Passion is Contagious at Skid Row. The Playground of Dreams (POD) team joined over one hundred homeless people lining the streets in Downtown Los Angeles.
The POD team enrolled my beautiful parents Dave and Lynn Larrabee, just in from upstate NY to join the adventure. First stop, The Hollywood blvd Rockin Ralph’s where GM Tim Connelly blessed the crew with three boxes of donated food.
Once the team arrived to Skid Row, they hit the streets and met some beautiful people open to sharing their stories of love, family, and struggle. La’s Skid Row district has the highest population of homeless people in one concentrated area in the country.
Loafs of bread, salads, sandwiches, and some delicious Ralph’s cookies were shared amongst the crowd. The highlight of the day was an extended family of ten children (picture attached) creating their own unique PODformance to Katy Perry’s “Hot and Cold”. Experiencing these children in such a free and passionate nature inspired their parents and everybody else around to sing along…including Dave and Lynn Larrabee.
I would just like to conclude this post with saying how much I love my parents and how truly blessed I am. Thank you Mom and Dad and thank you for all of the families at Skid Row for putting life into a clear perspective.
